Kathryn Raw

Kathryn Raw works to promote arts in the community. Having performed with various companies since 2005 she joined Foot in the Door in 2007, and was made Company Director in 2010. This is her tenth production with the company. She usually directs, but has been known to perform occasionally. Her aim for the company is to bring classic texts to communities and, where possible, to perform these for free in public spaces. They have performed with a range of festivals, and in many stunning venues. She enjoys making beautiful productions with the FITD family, and hopes that From Mansfield With Love will bring the wonderful talent of the people she works with to a wider audience. This is her first time writing for a web series, though she is no stranger to writing adaptions for the stage, having written an adaptation of The Wind in the Willows in 2009, and The Snow Queen in 2012. Both were well received, and The Snow Queen is being prepared for a tour in 2015.
When not working with Foot in the Door, she teaches Visual Arts, Music and Drama in schools across Hertfordshire, produces artwork, as well as continuing her own writing, which she hopes to publish in the near future. Kathryn is an unashamed Jane Austen nerd. So much so, she visits Chatsworth House (the inspiration for Pemberley in Pride and Prejudice) every other year, in full Regency costume. So when Kimberley mentioned the possiblity of a YouTube adaptation of Mansfield Park, she got a little over excited. The chance to adapt a lesser-known work of one her favourite authors, in its 200th anniversary, was too good an opportunity to miss.
