Claire Kerry

Writer

Claire Kerry is a Creative Writing graduate, who has been writing since childhood, when she would spend her time creating worlds out of lego and populating them with cuddly toys and action figures. Whilst her main passions lie in the genres of crime and fantasy, Claire has had a fondness for the works of Jane Austen since studying Pride and Prejudice at school, and has found adapting Mansfield Park for the web to be a fun and engaging challenge.

This is her first time writing for a web series, which will provide welcome variety from the Writing for Children MA she will be taking from 2014/15. Claire is a fan of the works of Neil Gaiman, Greek Mythology, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, Marvel movies and terrible pop music.

From Mansfield With Love is Claire’s first production with Foot in the Door, a company she has followed and admired since coming to Winchester, and she is immensely proud to be a part of this fantastic project. Claire feels just as at home in the theatre as she does at the keyboard. She has previously worked on many productions in the Winchester / Chichester areas.

Her sketch Good Cop, Bad Cop (written by Kerry and co-directed with Josh Pellegrini) was nominated for Best Sketch at the PAW Awards, 2014.
