David is a Drama & Media Studies Graduate from the University of Winchester. Scriptwriting started as a hobby, but over the years it has evolved into something more. Now, David has worked on numerous projects, expanding and improving on his skills to experiment with a wide variety of genres and formats. Aside from the odd sketch, here-and-there, the majority of these projects have yet to see the light of day, and a few of them sadly remain unfinished. Thankfully, Foot in the Door Theatre offered David the opportunity to work on From Mansfield With Love; a fantastic project, with a very talented production & writing team and the added promise of having scripts he’d written be performed by actual human people, for once.
David joined Foot in the Door Theatre in 2010, in their production of Much Ado About Nothing (Dogberry), and they've been unable to get rid of him. Since then, he has performed with them in productions of The Taming of the Shrew (Tranio), The Tempest (Antonio) and Doctor Faustus (Mephistopheles).
Whilst at University, David also began venturing into the world of directing, taking on the role of Director for a production of No Exit (PAW) and Assistant Directing in productions of Once a Catholic (UOW) and Alice in Wonderland (PAW). In his final year, he co-ran the weekly drama group, Let’s Act, which cumulated in an end of year showcase, comprised of sketches by members of the 40-strong group.
